Draft, pending legal review

Report an infringement or abuse

Draft for legal review · Version of 25 October 2026

If the language versions differ, the Polish version prevails. This English text is a translation provided for convenience.

If you see content in Korfi that is illegal or breaches the Terms, you can report it to us. Anyone can report, including people without a Korfi account.

An online form will be available in the future. For now we accept reports by email at abuse@korfi.app [TO BE DECIDED: address for abuse reports - confirm]. This page contains no form.

Working markers in the text: [TO BE COMPLETED] marks details the provider must fill in. [TO BE DECIDED] marks points the lawyer or the owner of Korfi must decide. This document is not legal advice and does not take effect until it is approved and published without these markers.

When to report

Report content made available through Korfi (a download link korfi.app/s/..., a Bucket korfi.app/u/... or other) when it is unlawful, breaches the acceptable use rules or infringes your rights.

In urgent and serious cases, for example an immediate threat to life, please also notify the police (emergency number 112).

Report categories

Choose a category and put it in the subject line of your message:

  • Copyright - infringement of copyright or related rights.
  • Malware or phishing - files or links used to steal data or infect devices.
  • Content involving children - material depicting the sexual abuse of children.
  • Other illegal content - for example criminal threats, incitement to violence or hatred, terrorist content, fraud.
  • Privacy violation - disclosure of your personal data, image or confidential documents without a legal basis.
  • Other - a breach of the Terms that does not fit the categories above.

What information to include

A report should be precise enough for us to assess it properly (Article 16(2) DSA). Please include:

  1. Location of the content: an identifier or link address (korfi.app/s/... or korfi.app/u/...) or a description of where the content can be found.
  2. Reasons: why the content is illegal or breaches the Terms, naming the provision or rule you believe it breaches.
  3. Reporter details: your name and the email address to which we will send the confirmation and the decision. The email address is optional only in the category “Content involving children”.
  4. Statement: that you are reporting in good faith and that the information in the report is accurate and complete (Article 16(2)(d) DSA).
  5. Copyright (in addition): identification of the work, of the rights holder and of the basis on which you may report on its behalf.

Do not send us the files themselves when they contain content involving children or other illegal material. A link address and a description are enough.

How to report

Send an email to abuse@korfi.app with the category in the subject line and the information listed above. You can write in Polish or English.

An online form protected against automated submissions will be available in the future. This page contains no form and no scripts.

What happens after a report

We confirm receipt of the report without undue delay (Article 16(4) DSA). We assess it diligently and objectively, and we inform the reporter of the decision and of the available means of redress (Article 16(5) DSA).

If we conclude that the content is illegal or breaches the Terms, we may disable a link or Bucket, quarantine a file, block the account’s public links, block the account, and preserve evidence for 90 days.

We inform the user concerned by the decision with a statement of reasons: what was restricted, why, on what basis, whether a person decided and how to appeal (Article 17 DSA). Details: Terms. For repeated infringements we block the account.

In copyright matters the user may submit a counter-notice. [TO BE DECIDED: procedure for appeal and reinstatement of content after a counter-notice]

End-to-end encrypted folders

The contents of files in Private folders and Vaults are end-to-end encrypted. Korfi cannot see them, so it can neither check what they contain nor read them at your request.

In that case we act on the basis of the report and metadata: we can block a link or Bucket, disable access to a file by its identifier, or block the account. That is why the description in your report (what the material contains, how you know it, why it is illegal) is especially important.

The address of a link to an encrypted file contains, after the # sign, a decryption key that the server never receives. Give us the address without the part after the # sign, and do not send us the key or the files themselves. [TO BE DECIDED: whether the reporter should provide the full address including the part after the # sign - by default we ask for the address without that part]

Authorities and orders

Orders to act against illegal content and orders to provide information (Articles 9 and 10 DSA) should be sent to the contact point described on the Contact page.

Please also report content involving children to Dyżurnet.pl (a NASK team) and to the police. We also report such cases to the competent authorities.

Misuse of reports

Please report in good faith. Deliberately false or unfounded reports may lead us to refuse to process further reports from the same person. [TO BE DECIDED: policy on misuse of reports]

The rules on acceptable use and moderation are in the Terms: acceptable use and moderation.

Questions about this process: Contact.
